Rathdrum- Named after a town in Ireland, Rathdrum was originally called “Westwood” in the early 1800’s when it was founded, but received its name change in 1881 due to the fact that there was already a town named Westwood in the territory. Once a popular stopping place among the Native Americans, Rathdrum is now a flourishing little family-friendly town. Anywhere you go, you will see somebody that you know, which gives its residents a sense of belonging. Just a few miles from Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, and Spokane, Washington, Rathdrum is a small town with the opportunity to enjoy the larger cities amenities. Backing up to Rathdrum Mountain and Mt. Spokane National Forest, residents enjoy a lot of hiking, biking, four wheeling, and dirt bike riding in the warmer months without having to travel far.
